Good customer service from the staff, especially the manager. The location was great, and the lounges had fantastic views. The room was massive and although hot I was able to open a window. The location is perfect the pier is just across the road and there are plenty of shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk.
The room was a little run down and not very clean, especially in the bathroom, which also smelt of mastic sealant!!! Towels were tiny and cheap and not changed frequently enough.
Friendly hotel manager and staff top draw ,would go back again.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location. Waitress service at breakfast, so no queuing to help yourself.
We arrived late, but were made welcome. We were given good information on where to eat and able to buy a parking voucher for 50p which meant you could keep your parking spot until 11am rather than have to move it at 8am. The room was fine if a little dated, good shower and large bath towels. Good breakfast served efficiently.
The mattress on the bed was the low end of budget- you could feel every spring. We were working and needed a good nights sleep, but arose stiff and unrefreshed. It was the one reason we would not use the hotel again.
I/We had a great stay right next to the pier (I had already read the reveiws and was aware of the noise from the night club closing late so took my mp4 player and put it in and did'nt hear a thing) It was great value for money and the weather was great so all in all we had a great time. The staff was very pleasent, friendly. and helpfull. I/We would stay again no prob... Advise would be to read some of the reveiws.
I rang to ask what Rome breakfast was,was told on Sundays it starts at nine instead of eight, when we came down we were told it was at eight and we missed it.Someone things its funny, apart from that everything was good.
When booking in, I was extremely impressed and thought what a great location for our turkey and tinsel next year. I was not impressed at 4am in the morning when I was still awake. From midnight until 4.30am I was kept awake from constant shrieking due to night clubbers going to and from the night club on the pier and if I had known that there was a night club on the pier, I would not have booked. What an absolute nightmare for local residents and other guest within the vincinity. Very disappointing.
The very friendly and helpful reception and staff. The breakfasts were excellent, dinner we did not have but understand from other guests that they were also excellent. Our room was excellent with a view of the pier and sea. Will definitely wish to stay there again. Full Marks.
No complaints. Everything was very good.
Stayed at the Afton Hotel for 8 nights,5 on my own & 3 nights with my wife & toddler.Room was nice & had everything I needed. When my wife & daughter came the room had three beds but reception were happy to adapt to a double & single. The staff at the Afton are superb they do everything to make your stay a happy one.Our room was always cleaned while we were at breakfast & fresh towels everyday. The hotel is a great 2* hotel at bargain rates
My only gripe would be the breakfast, which I found a little small, egg bacon & one sausage plus two extra items.....would of liked more! But once again the staff in the restaurant excellent.
Afton Hotel is an attractive old building and my many of the rooms have bay windows, mine had a view of the Pier. The room itself was well furnished and comfortable with a very modern and efficient shower. Although I only stayed for 1 night I would have no hesitaton in staying there again when I visit Eastbourne for the tennis. I spent the following 3 nights at another which cost 50% more and was far inferior; I cannot fault the Afton Hotel for value for money.
It was very comfortable and I will stay there again. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Very convenient for the beach and shops.
Breakfast although bad coffee!
Our room was dirty and only had a shower, although we were on the 3rd floor at the front of the hotel (wonderful view) we were kept awake until 5am from drunks coming out of the nightclub on the pier. The shower took 3 visits from staff to get hot water as the cold/hot tap was on the wrong way round, all in all not a good night and will not be staying again.
flexibility, I stayed in a quiet room, ( basement/lower ground) with no noise
Very centrally placed.
Rooms on the top floor were rather restricted - comfortable though!
Staff were very friendly and always appeared to be happy in thir Jobs. Breakfast waitress remembered I liked Sauce with my Breakfast after second Night!!
Room Walls a bit thin so noise from corridor and Adjoining rooms was a bit irritating. Mainly, to be fair, due to inconsiderate Guests
