Great location near the pier, room was very clean and the staff were very friendly.
We stayed in Eastbourne overnight to attend tennis tournament which was being held only 10 minutes walk away. Located near pier, just off main promenade. Hotel was dated, but clean and good value for money. Reasonable breakfast.. friendly staff. Would stay again. Street parkng available at hotel, but meters start at 8 am. To avoid getting up to see to parking, hotel supplied permit which allowed free parking until 11 am
10.30 check out a bit early.
The special rate (£30 a night), good value for money - especially as I happened to get a twin room even though had only paid for a single; the location and the view (I could see the pier and the seafront from my room). When booking this wasn't a deciding factor for me, however, as my friend had already booked his room at this hotel and I wanted to stay at the same one. • cheeky seagull who kept peeping into my room (309) when I arrived and then in the early hours of the morning, he wouldn't stop pecking the window till I had drawn the curtains so that he could see into the room! (I'm sure it was the same one both times.)
•Only one problem really and that was the seating arrangement at the breakfast table - you weren't free to take just any table, only the one with your name on it and were kind of forced to have a conversation with other people at the same table (one of the other three was my friend though). •Perhaps a minor inconvenience was the fact that you couldn't order hot drinks at the bar in the evenings although that turned out to be the case with a few other hotels nearby, too.
Very clean room in a perfect location. The staff were friendly and the breakfast more than we expected. Was surprised to find this was only a 2 star hotel as it felt more like a 3 star.
The friendly environment and the cleanliness and the closeness to all the facilities that Eastbourne has to offer.
The hotel is situated right near the sea front and centre of town, it location was one of the key points for booking it for the short stay (one night only) the room was clean and comfortable.
The rooms could benift from air conditioning as it was a very warm day and night.
Lead by Jason (the general manager) I found the hotel full of friendly people, always willing to help. The hotel is nicely located for the Eastbourne seafront and for the local shops.
The Afton Hotel is very resonably priced and has an excellent location very near the pier at Eastbourne. The staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfasts good. Thank you. The hotel parking permit was useful and well priced.
very relaxed friendly staff cleahliness position
Located directly opposite the pier with a seaview from our room. Good bar with reasonably priced beers, we only stopped for two nights but entertainment was provided in the bar on both nights.
Although breakfast was satisfactory and served quite quickly, upon entering the large dining room we discovered that our name had been placed on a particular table however with no master table plan one had to spent time scouring the room to find your specific table. Once we were settled it was quite amusing watching staff and guests wandering around the room trying to find their tables.
We spend 70 pounds for a two beds room. It is a very very nice place and you can even see the sea and the pier through the window. Though the room is not big, it is very clean and quiet at night.
the staff were very friendly and want you to have a good stay nothing is to much trouble and the food is good , we had a lovely room over looking the pier and sea with a balcony . from the moment we arived we unwound and relaxed with a few drinks on the balcony and didnt want to venture out far the first night so had a meal in the hotel which was excellent . really nice meal ... the hotel is dog friendly which is a bonus , will definatly stay again and recomend...
nothing , couldnt fault it...
An Easy Going Atmosphere and very friendly and welcoming..............
Nice warm welcome; comfortable clean room; very good location
Rather small bathroom - only one hook on back of door so nowhere to hang wet towels. Extractor fan not working
